When purchasing candles, always burn the new candle for a few minutes after placing it in your candle holder. It gives the “lived-in” look, not the “I-never-light-my-candles-and-enjoy-them” look.

Also, before relighting candles, trimming the wick down to 1/4” will not only help keep the flame under control, the candles will also last longer.
